Can positive words build self esteem? This is one of the main questions we will consider here on this page. According to the Bible, God created the world with words. This report, published by the Association for Talent Development and written by Blitzer et al., mentions how important words are in building the self-esteem of employees. As a life coach, published author, and former sufferer of low self esteem and depression, I know how life-changing words can be. Think about how others' words can affect you either positively or negatively. The words of a friend, or a family member can boost your self-confidence. Self esteem quotes can have a profound effect on our thoughts and behaviour. But before we take a look at some wonderful words that will inspire you to build your self-esteem, take a moment to think about how powerful words can be. As with all things, self esteem and even happiness, come from within you. From within your heart. Words, whether in a poem, a positive quote, those spoken by someone, words in a book or in a movie, all have their own power. Words can shock, inspire, energize, encourage, discourage, motivate or de-motivate you. Words can make you laugh, smile, cry or think. Words can make you happy or unhappy, angry or relaxed, calm or nervous. Words can cause emotions and feelings or take them away. Words portray ideas and concepts. We use them to explain, to help, to hurt, to love and to entertain. Words are the best way to express our thoughts and feelings about our experiences and about our future hopes and intentions. Words are a crucial part of building your self-esteem and confidence. Words affect real change in our lives or they can stop us. The Power of Words Can Motivate You or Hurt Your Confidence Words are indeed powerful, you only have to think back to a time someone said something to you that hurt. Has anyone ever said anything that knocked your confidence? I bet they have, as it happens to the best of us at some point. On the other hand, words can encourage you and motivate you, they can inspire you to be a better version of yourself. On the other hand, positive words inside your head can really lift you and encourage you. This is why negative self-talk can be so important. Make sure that you use your own inner words to support yourself and not resort to self-criticism. Reading inspirational books or poems can encourage you to think more positive thoughts and to feel more confident. It's not just your own self criticism you need help with if you suffer from low self esteem. Knowing how to cope with criticism from others can change your life! I always suspected I had this talent, now I have proved it to myself. Maybe I can even achieve greater things! This is the unlimited positive power of creativity! Investing your precious time into a new hobby or activity which requires creativity can lead to self-discovery and a new-found sense of confidence and self-esteem, so take the chance when it presents itself.
