Often self esteem and self confidence are used to mean roughly the same thing. This is a mistake because they are not actually the same. On this page I will use my twenty plus years of experience working in this field to explain what the difference is and how they are sometimes confused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Self esteem and self confidence, though quite close in meaning, are actually very different. Self esteem is based on how you feel about yourself and your self-worth, whereas self confidence is what you believe you can or cannot do, in other words, an assessment of your ability.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
